my wifi dongle is getting VERY hot ...

Discuss anything that you want regarding the Dedicated USB WiFi Dongle.

my wifi dongle is getting VERY hot ...

is that normal?
I also keep losing my network connections which I have been blaming on the new firmware but maybe this relates to that too.

Thanks

@akrasna - The WiFi dongle temperature rise that you are experiencing is normal. As far as the wireless connectivity, could you describe for me how your network is setup and where the CinemaTube is relative to your wireless access point?
Kind regards,

Tony

I am experiencing the same exact problem. My unit works fine wireless for several minutes and then the video I'm watching simply stops. I look at network and it states "Can't get any IP." I pulled out the USB dongle and it was very hot to the touch. I understand that electronics get warm during operation but this was hot.

@jj872 - Can you send an e-mail to service@brite-view.com and reference this thread. One other troubleshooting step to try is by plugging your WiFi adapter into your PC and seeing if the temperature gets as hot if not hotter than when it is connected to the CT.
Kind regards,

Tony
